At least four insurers now offer up to $1,000 for people whose pets are injured or killed in car crashes.
Not a bad idea, according to people walking their buddies at Parleys Nature Park in Salt Lake.
One woman said, “I like animals more than people, most of the time.”
“These guys are my kids,” said another dog walker. “I wouldn’t want anything to happen to them.”
To those who think it’s a bit much, these dog owners say obviously the skeptics don’t have pets.
The insurance coverage is free at four major companies. A handful of other insurers offer some coverage under property losses.
